19th Century Collection

The Rochester Civic Garden Center Library is devoted exclusively to all aspects of horticulture (including its history and art) with over 4,000 volumes and is affiliated with the National Council of Botanical and Horticultural Libraries. The library also has current and back issues of magazines (see * below), bulletins of U.S. and Canadian Garden Centers, garden catalogs, photographs and prints of garden subjects, and article clippings. Experienced librarians are here to assist you.

The library is open to the public for reading and reference. RCGC Members have book borrowing privileges. Our collection is also catalogued on the Rochester Library Council’s Roaring Cat system.
