ROCHESTER CIVIC GARDEN CENTER
Warner Castle
Home of the Rochester Civic Garden Center

Horatio Gates Warner designed his home, Warner Castle, built in 1854, to resemble the ancestral castle of the Clan Douglas which captivated his fancy during a visit to Scotland. A self-guided tour (available at Warner Castle) shares the history and architecture of this American Castle and its beautiful interior.

Stroll the grounds and discover the Sunken Garden designed by famous landscape architect, Alling S. DeForest.

Sunken Garden reservations are handled by the Monroe County Parks Department. Reservations may be made for photographs only. Ceremonies are allowed in other areas of Highland Park. Visit the Parks Department's web site and click on the link for the Online Wedding Reservation Application (this allows you to make reservations for photographs in the Sunken Garden). Or you may call the Monroe County Parks Department Reservations office at 585-753-7275.
