About us
The Rochester Civic Garden Center is the Horticultural Education Center for the Genesee Region of New York state. The Garden Center, a not-for-profit organization, was founded in 1945 and chartered by the New York State Board of Regents in 1950 as a non-profit educational organization.
The Garden Center moved to its present home, historic Warner Castle, in Highland Park, in 1964. We are open to the public and invite you to take a tour of the Castle, browse the botanical library, and visit our favorite classroom: the surrounding gardens and nearby Highland Park.
Each year over 15,000 visitors enjoy our Garden Tour, symposium, classes, lectures, and other special events. We invite you to be one of our special visitors.
Through the integrated efforts of the Executive Director, Board of Trustees and a dedicated volunteer corps, the Rochester Civic Garden Center meets individual and civic needs, enhancing the horticultural community.
