Class Description:
Having a cold frame is a real plus in any season – a great antidote to cabin fever in early spring, ideal for forcing bulbs, getting those cold-weather vegetable and annual seedlings going, acclimating houseplants and warm season annuals to erratic spring weather, even keeping the season going into early winter for vegetables that tolerate some frost and for overwintering marginally hardy plants. But – how to make one? Jim Stalker will demonstrate the entire process of making a cold frame quickly and easily from readily available materials such as a sheet of Styrofoam and some PVC pipe, using simple tools that most people have.
