0518LN Soirée: A Plantsmen’s Idyllic Farmstead in Ontario

Thursday, May 18

6:30-8 pm

Join us for this informal get-together. Enjoy some refreshments and a chance to visit with fellow enthusiasts about our favorite subject – gardening! Gail Maier was the designing force behind Lakeside Nursery, the Maier’s home-based nursery specializing in rare and unusual trees and shrubs and choice perennials which supplied many of the superior introductions gracing local parks and gardens. The nursery has been gone for several years but Gail’s idyllic 3-acre farmstead in Ontario is landscaped with mature specimens of a superb collection of flowering trees and shrubs, and the beautifully restored brick Italianate Victorian farmhouse and historic barn are surrounded with lush mixed gardens of perennials and woody plants. Come enjoy the peaceful and gracious old-world charm complemented with the best of today’s cultivars. Gail will be on hand to answer all your questions about landscaping with woody plants and special perennials. Directions will be emailed before the soirée.
